MoreBeach.com Announces Second Annual Winter Surfing Photo & Writing Contest

Orleans, MA,(PR.Web) January 17, 2007 -- MoreBeach.com announces its Second Annual Winter Surfing Photo & Writing Contest. Once again the theme is "Winter Surfing." Surfers and their friends are invited to submit pictures and words that capture the winter surfing experience. Winter surfing is about soulfulness and exhilaration, beauty and fear, being cold and getting warm again. There's more than a touch of insanity too.

All entries will be published online at MoreBeach.com. The winner in each category (one writer, one photographer) will receive $200 and a donation of $100 to the winner's local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. Three runners-up in each category will each receive $25. Entries will be judged by the MoreBeach.com editorial staff based on how well they capture the essence of Winter Surfing. Entries must be received no later than March 31, 2007 and are welcome from any location in the world. Writing entries may be from 10 words to 1000 in the forms of haiku, poems or essays. The entry form can be accessed online at the company's website.

Last year's contest saw entries from across the United States and around the world, from South Africa, Australia and Ireland, from West Coast to East Coast and in between. Photos were received of surfing on the icy shores of Lake Superior with air temperature of -10F, flying across the waves of a nor'easter in Massachusetts, shivering on a New Jersey shore and massive waves in Northern California and England. The winning story provided "Tips for Staying Warm When It's Not."
